Healers

One healer gets assigned to each Galleon. Healing should be kept to minimal as possible. Use Protective Wings if possible when the Kraken uses Tsunami. Resurrect the people who die on your assigned Galleon.

Galleons

9 Galleons with 36 players shooting all the cannons is the minimum DPS requirement to kill the Kraken. The Kraken will regenerate more health than damage dealt if you go with less. 10 Galleons with 40 players shooting the cannons or more is highly recommended. Galleon owners are assigned to their own as cannoneers or healers.

Cannoneers

Cannoneers must have 2000 Steel Ammo each to shoot at the Kraken. 4 players are assigned to each Galleon as cannoneers.

Raid Info/Screenshot

Here is an example of how the raid should be organized. The raid leader will have to move the Galleon Owners and Healers into separate groups. To save time it is best to invite all Galleon Owners then Healers first. Galleon Owners set their roles to Defenders or Healer (if they are a healer). Healers set their role to Healer. Cannoneers set their role as Attacker or Undecided. Every single person are on their assigned Galleon (all of group 4 is on the Galleon which Periphery owns. They are assigned to Group 4 therefore they go to Periphery). Every Galleon has a healer. You can see on the map that 9 Galleons are perfectly positioned around the Kraken within firing range (the Kraken is where the heart is). The Tank and Tank Support are in group 10 and marked.

Raid Formation & Info

This is a screenshot of Blank killing the Kraken (Lucius NA guild which have killed the Kraken 43 times without help and successfully has never failed to kill the Kraken when reds were trying to interfere. They have killed the Kraken a total of 46 times (including the help from other guilds). They were the first to kill the Kraken with Vindictive on Lucius. Blank fell apart and went different ways in ~January, 2015. RIP Blank.

Strategy

Tank

The Tank goes in first fully buffed. Positioning is extremely important, otherwise the Kraken will use Tentacle Smash. The Tank needs to position in front of the Krakens mouth. Tank for 5 minutes to get good aggro before everyone starts dealing DPS to the Kraken. Use consumables at will.

Tank Support

Go in after the tank. Position yourself 20 meters directly under the Tank. If positioned correctly you will not receive any damage through the whole fight. When the Kraken uses lightning and puts a debuff on the Tank use Mirrors Light to remove the debuff. When the Kraken raises his Tentacles start channeling Anthesis to quickly heal the Tank after damage is dealt. Always keep the tank buffed with Resurgence and Renewal. Playing Bulwark Ballad throughout the fight is helpful.

Galleons

Everyone goes on their assigned Galleons 200-250 meters away waiting for the Tank to get good aggro of the Kraken. Once the Tank has aggro Galleons position around the Kraken in a circle 90-120 meters away from the Kraken. Start firing cannons at the Kraken when every Galleon is positioned. When the Kraken uses the ability Sea God's Retreat it is recommended to stop DPS until he goes back onto the Tank. His charge will focus Galleons pushing them. Galleon owners will have to position their Galleon quickly back into position again.

Kraken Abilities

Tentacle Smash

Tentacle Smash is one of the most frightening abilities within the game. It is a one shot mechanic and can only be avoided by being out of range, using Invincibility, going deep under the water or high enough in the air. When the Kraken uses Tentacle Smash, the Kraken will raise his tentacles extremely high into the air. The ability is not instant, once he finishes channeling his tentacles smash the water. Everything in front the Kraken on its elevation within 140 degrees and 120 meter range will be destroyed and killed.

Sea God's Retreat

Tsunami

Tsunami an an ability used by the Kraken which causes a large wave of water and deals magic damage. Tsunami has 360 degrees AOE and 120 meters range. The ability is not instant, it has to channel which gives allows players enough time on Galleons to use Protective Wings becoming immune to the damage. There are safe spots within the 360 degrees AOE where the wave will not hit. If graphics are set to low you will not be able to see the wave animation where the waves will hit.

Loot

On death the Kraken will drop 1 of the 4 items.

Arcadian Sea Guardian

Arcadian Sea Pillager

Arcadian Sea Sovereign

Feathered Dragon Glider

The Kraken will always drop the following:

Kraken Ink Sac

Jester's Coinpurse

Pygmy Kraken Tentacles

Writhing Kraken Tentacles

Gargantuan Kraken Tentacles

Kraken Tentacles will be on the surface of the water when the Kraken dies. They have the same mechanics as fish and can be crafted into trophies or handed in for gold at a Fish Stand. The most sort after is the largest, Gargantuan Kraken Tentacle. It has become ArcheAge tradition to rush into the water when the Kraken dies to get a Gargantuan Kraken Tentacle, so players can make jokes of "who has the biggest one". ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
