In the tables below, damage scattering is basically the deviation each weapon's attack has from its average DPS. It goes both ways - this means that with a high damage scatter, a weapon will sometimes hit much higher than average, but also sometimes hit much lower than average. The trigger effect is an effect that has a chance to happen each time you simply attack an enemy with the weapon. Attack speed should actually be named "attack delay" or something similar, because it is a value that represents how slow you attack. So, high attack speed means that your weapon is slow, and low attack speed means it's fast. Considering that weapon skills seem to be based of your average DPS instead of your raw weapon damage and that each weapon hit has a chance to proc a trigger effect independently of weapon speed (needs confirmation), you'll generally prefer using faster weapons (lower attack speed) so you get more trigger effects while not losing any damage as your average DPS is the same. Obviously you will first choose a weapon based on its trigger effect and healing power/magical attack rather than on its attack speed, but this is something to keep in mind.
One-handed weapons[]
Each one-handed weapon occupies one hand and can go into either hand (except when otherwise stated). You can dual-wield one-handed weapons (or use a one-handed weapon in the right hand and a shield in the left hand).
